This project, for Kitsap Mental Health Services, was located on a 1+ acre site which was constrained by stream buffers & setbacks.
We provided all civil engineering work for the project as a sub-consultant, collaborating with the Architect and Biologist to provide a site layout that met the owners needs. We negotiated an easement with the neighboring parcel for a common access that freed up more project space.
This was one of the first commercial projects in Kitsap County to employ low impact development (LID) facilities for storm runoff. The access road and parking areas were constructed of porous asphalt pavement. Soil enhancements were added to lawn and landscape areas to improve permeability, and the roof runoff is dispersed through underground infiltration.
